Your child's safety is our top priority - in our pools and beyond.

Not only do we teach foundational swimming skills but we integrate water safety and real-world safety into every lesson.

Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death for children ages 1–4 in the US. At King’s, we don’t just teach swimming, we use our unique SwimSure™ curriculum to  teach life-long skills, one skill, one smile, and one high five at a time.

The Facts About Drowning

The number one cause of unintentional death for children 1–4 is drowning

But there is an 88% reduced risk of drowning for children ages 1–4 who take formal swim lessons

4,500+ people die from drowning each year in the U.S. and numbers are rising

70% of toddler drownings happen during non-swim times, often when no one expects it

Our Curriculum Advantage

SwimSure™: Built on Safety

Our proprietary SwimSure™ curriculum integrates water safety into every skill, level, and lesson, because when a child gains skills, they gain safety and confidence too.

How We Teach Water Safety Every Day

Safety Happens in Every Splash.

Every Class Starts with the King's Safety Pledge

Every lesson begins with the Safety Pledge. This short, ritual builds awareness and respect for the water from the very first day.

A Dual Safety Foundation: Two Lifesaving Skills Taught in Every Level

Every King's swimmer learns our Dual Safety Foundation: the Jump, Turn, Swim and Roll-to-Backfloat techniques. Practiced across all 11 SwimSure™ levels, these proven survival methods teach children what to do in unexpected situations and how to safely return to the wall.

Practice Real-World Safety Scenarios

Our curriculum teaches safety in real-life contexts:

  1. How to get out of a pool or body of water independently, even when fully clothed (Clothesline Week)
  2. What to do if a friend falls into water (“Yell, Go Tell!”)
  3. Practicing life jacket safety and understanding when and why they’re needed.
  4. Annual Water Safety Week reinforces these habits through hands-on learning that sticks.

No Shortcuts, Just Real Skills

We don’t use puddle jumpers or floaties. We teach body positioning, breath control, and survival techniques, all through play, repetition, and structure.

Small Class Sizes for Safer Lessons

Our low student-to-teacher ratios ensure swimmers receive close attention, immediate correction, and extra hands-on support when needed.

Our Teachers:
Certified, Prepared, and Passionate

Safety Starts with Our Teachers
  1. Our SwimSure™ curriculum represents the gold standard in swim instruction, grounded in proven child-development principles and confidence-building techniques. Instructors are equipped to teach safety, awareness, and life skills that stay with children beyond the pool.
  2. Every instructor at King’s completes a comprehensive, multi-stage training program before leading a class. This includes in-water instruction, online learning modules, interactive workshops, and ongoing training with monthly safety drills.
  3. Teachers who lead Parent-Participation lessons receive additional, specialized training designed to coach both swimmers and parents.
  4. Ongoing Education & Safety Readiness
    1. Instructor development never stops. Our teams participate in:
    2. Monthly safety drills and EAP (Emergency Action Plan) refreshers to stay prepared for any situation.
    3. H2O sessions (Huddle to Optimize) for continued coaching, technique refinement, and safety scenario reviews.
    4. Weekly Safety Minutes to share real-world lessons and reinforce best practices.
    5. Water Watcher modules that promote active, vigilant supervision awareness.
The entire King's Swim Academy staff is trained
and safety is built into every layer of our operations.
  1. Multiple staff members are on deck and in the pool at all times for constant supervision.
  2. Clear whistle protocols and Directional Teaching methods keep pool communication controlled and responsive.
  3. A Manager on Duty oversees every shift to ensure safety protocols are followed and takes point in emergencies.
  4. Monthly EAP drills and annual Water Safety Week and Clothesline Week help staff and swimmers practice real-world safety.
  5. Safety preparedness is part of our facility guidelines and instructor evaluations, ensuring these standards are lived, practiced, and measured daily.
  6. Together, these consistent practices create a culture of preparedness, confidence, and care because at King’s, safety isn’t just a lesson plan. It’s a promise.

Swim lessons are only one part of drowning prevention.

Here’s what parents can do at home:

  1. Always supervise around water, even for “strong” swimmers
  2. Install 4-sided fencing around home pools
  3. Avoid distraction while children are in or near water
  4. Enroll in lessons early, as young as 6 months
  5. Learn CPR and emergency response protocols
