KSA Summer Lessons – Level Guide

 

Baby & MeAges 4 months - 6 months
 Baby & Me Ages 4-6 months – This class is built for you and your child to bond in the water. Babies will begin to acclimate to the pool environment through conditioning and proactive songs. Parents will learn how to hold their babies in a way that maximizes body position and buoyancy. Parents and children will be given activities that can be practiced at home in the tub. Double swim diaper is required. Each class is 20-25 minutes and the maximum number of students is 5.

Parent & Me 1Ages 7 months - 18 months
 Ages 7 months-18 months – This class is built to captivate your child’s attention! It is full of interactive songs and activities that gear your students towards success in the water. Parents will learn important swim terms, how to hold your child in a way that maximizes buoyancy and confidence while swimming. Basic water safety skills will also be taught to parents and children!  Child should be able to hold head up steady on own. Double swim diaper is required. Each class is 30 minutes and the maximum number of students is 6.

Parent & Me 2Ages 19 months - 2.5 years
Ages 19 months-2.5 years – This class is built to help prepare your child for traditional group swim lessons! It is full of interactive songs and activities that gear your students towards success in the water. Parents will learn how to encourage their child to be more independent in the water and children will begin wearing goggles. Water safety skills and many fun techniques will be included to excel learning!  Double swim diaper is required. Each class is 30 minutes and the maximum number of students is 6.

Level 1ABeginner Level for 2.5-4 years old
Beginner Level for 2.5-4 years old – In this level, we learn water confidence, how to properly kick and how/when to take independent breaths. We also learn important water safety rules and how to recover if we fall in!  Each class is 30 minutes and the maximum student teacher ratio is 3:1.

Level 1BBeginner Level for 4 years and older.
Beginner Level for 4 years and older – Beginner Level for 4 years and older. In this level, we learn water confidence, how to properly kick and how/when to take independent breaths. Level 2Independent Swimmers
Independent Swimmers – In this level, we swim halfway across the pool and back while learning the basics of freestyle, backstroke, elementary backstroke and dolphin kick. We learn beginner treading water and how to safely recover if we fall in unexpectedly!  Each class is 30 minutes and the maximum student teacher ratio is 4:1.

Level 3Independent Swimmers
Independent Swimmers – In this level, we begin swimming full laps and learn more details about freestyle and backstroke. We also begin learning the basics of breaststroke, treading water and underwater swimming. In this level, swimmers will also review how to recover if they fall in unexpectedly.  Each class is 30 minutes and the maximum student teacher ratio is 4:1.

Level 4Independent Swimmers
Independent Swimmers – In this level, we begin swimming continuous laps. Side-breathing during freestyle will be perfected and backstroke as well! The rhythm for breaststroke is a major goal for level 4’s to work towards. We also learn the fundamentals of butterfly. Level 4’s will also learn to tread water for long periods of time and how to complete a legal flip-turn.  Each class is 30 minutes and the maximum student teacher ratio is 5:1.

Technique & Fitness
This 45-minute class designed for swimmers who already know how to swim freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Offering personal coaching of stroke skills and swimming laps to increase endurance and strength, this class prepares swimmers for swim team, promotes healthy lifestyle and hones stroke. Max 5:1 student/teacher ratio.
